Anthony Richardson Puts on a Show for Florida Against USF

Anthony Richardson was involved in seven plays for the Florida Gators today in a 42-20 victory over USF.

He totaled 267 yards and three touchdowns.

First, it was his arm that did the work, when he heaved one down the field to receiver Jacob Copeland for a 75-yard score. A wide-open Copeland, yes, but a throw that exhibited the effortless power in Richardson's arm.

Richardson was not done, though. He came back in the second quarter to hit Copeland once again for a 41-yard touchdown to give the Gators a 28-3 lead over the Bulls.

And if it wasn't enough, Richardson ended his day with one of the most electrifying 80-yard touchdown runs you'll ever see from a quarterback.

In case you're wondering why Richardson only touched the ball seven times, it's because fellow quarterback Emory Jones has taken majority of the snaps under center despite a mixed bag of results.

Jones threw two more interceptions today, after throwing two last weekend against FAU. Jones now has a TD/INT ratio of 2:4 through two games while Richardson has been nearly flawless.

Cue the quarterback controversy in Gainesville as the Gators get set to take on No. 1 Alabama at home next Saturday. Evidence through the first two games suggest the Gators best shot at pulling off the upset will be to go with Richardson in that high-profile matchup.
