ANOTHER Coaching Candidate Turns Down Auburn

It has been a very busy week for head coaching candidates either being eliminated from the process to be Auburn's next coach or flat out turning them down. On Monday, it was revealed that Auburn DC Kevin Steele and Alabama OC Steve Sarkisian were out. Then, Louisiana head coach Billy Napier turned them down. Now, according to Pete Thamel, so has Clemson DC Brent Venables:

It would be pretty wild if Auburn really paid a $21 million buyout to Gus Malzahn without a more cohesive plan in place. I remain firmly in the camp of hoping for one of the 2020-est scenarios possible, where Hugh Freeze reemerges in the hunt for the Auburn job.
