NCAAF Week 12 Best Bets

Week 12 in NCAAF started with an easy win for us on the Duke vs. Louisville game and we have a couple of other early week games ready for Friday night. This article will provide a play on a side, an over, an under, and an underdog for us to play this weekend.

Michigan State at Ohio State

Let me just start by saying Ohio State probably doesn’t even want to risk having any sort of difficult time with the Spartans. I expect them to do everything they possibly can to win this game by double digits and with ease. No disrespect to the Spartans whatsoever, but Ohio State is on the inside of the College Football Playoff and had to battle back here after an early season home loss to Oregon. They won’t let that happen again. Michigan State can be exploited in the passing game, and I think C.J. Stroud is something good enough to take advantage of their secondary. I’ll take the Buckeyes -19.5 -110. I think this is a three touchdown difference.

Virginia Tech at Miami

These teams have identical records both overall and in conference. Miami has not lived up to expectations, and just lost their last game. Virginia Tech has lost three of their last five games but they did just thrash Duke. I expect this game to be a bit of a track meet with teams running up and down the field scoring on each other. In nine of Miami’s 10 games this year the total has gone past 56 points, and in most of them the points have soared above that total. I’m taking the over 56.5 at -110 and expecting both teams to score frequently.

Purdue vs. Northwestern

Purdue has a nice stretch of winning three of their last five games, including over Iowa and Michigan State. Last week they were throttled a bit by Ohio State, but it wasn’t an embarrassment by any means. This week they play a team that has had a very rough stretch in Northwestern. Northwestern has struggled to score in many games, but the good news for them is that they’ve kept the majority of games close enough that they aren’t complete routs. Both of these teams are pretty low scoring and also hold their opponents to limited scoring opportunities. I’m taking the under in this game at 48.5 at -118. I think the cold weather and new environment of playing in Wrigley Field will make these teams even slower.

Auburn at South Carolina

The Gamecocks should win this game. Auburn has been fine this season, but nothing spectacular. Lately, they’ve struggled. They’ve lost three games out of their last five including their last two games. It isn’t as though South Carolina has been better over that stretch – they’ve also lost three of five. Both of them lost to #17 ranked Texas A&M and neither was particularly close. I think South Carolina has a better chance to stop the passing game of Auburn than Auburn does of stopping South Carolina’s balanced attack. I’m taking my shot on the Gamecocks at +260.
