Gonzaga Star Drew Timme Announces He's Staying

Standout power forward Drew Timme has decided to forego the 2021 NBA Draft and give Gonzaga another run.

"After reviewing options with my family, I've decided to return to Gonzaga," Timme said in a release from the school. "I am excited to come back to Spokane and continue my collegiate career. I appreciate everything I've learned so far from the Gonzaga coaching staff, and look forward to growing my game more. I love playing at GU, being a part of the program, and can't wait to play in front of the best fans in the country again."

Gonzaga finished 31-1 and went unbeaten all the way to the national championship game, where it was bounced by Baylor. Along with point guard Jalen Suggs and shooting guard Corey Kispert, Timme was a huge reason for Gonzaga's success.

For starters, he won the Karl Malone Award, given annually to college basketball's top power forward. He also led the West Coast Conference in scoring (19.0 ppg) and averaged 20.3 points on a sizzling 65 percent shooting in the NCAA Tournament.

Suggs and Kispert are headed to the NBA, but thanks to Timme and what is considered the best recruiting class in school history, Gonzaga is ranked No. 1 in all the offseason college basketball polls.

Timme will be a junior for the 2021-22 season.
