NBC Claims Parents Unqualified To Make Decisions About Their Children's Schooling

One day after the judge presiding over the case against Kyle Rittenhouse banned MSNBC from the courtroom for allegedly trying to photograph jurors, MSNBC's parent company, NBC, published one of the most alarming pieces of the week.

On Friday, NBC declared that while parents think they have the right to influence public schooling -- they do not.

According to the outlet, a parent opposing a school's educational tactics is on par with running into an operating room to demand a say in how a surgeon performs a procedure on a child. That's actually the comparison NBC makes.

"Parents think they have the right to control teaching and learning because their children are the ones educated," NBC says. "It's sort of like entering a surgical unit thinking you can interfere with an operation because the patient is your child."

Got that? Because you believe there are only two genders and you oppose classifying your child as either an oppressor or one of the oppressed, you might as well tell a brain surgeon how to operate.

"Parents and politicians across the country are interfering with the curricula that public schools use to teach students," the piece informs us.

"State legislatures are passing laws to keep critical race theory out of schools, literary classics like Toni Morrison's 'The Bluest Eye' are banned for sexual content, and school libraries are coming under attack for containing books about gender. There are even parents who are trying to shield students from learning about mental health and suicide— as though helping children build emotional fortitude is a bad thing."

You have to wonder why NBC would post such a disturbing piece. Why would a news outlet condemn parents who are involved in their children's academics and shame them for voicing their opinion?

If NBC really believes that the government should make unilateral decisions on K-12 education, isn't the network also implying that the government owns all school-age children?

NBC, a valuable ally to the Democratic Party, is playing a game it cannot win here. Virginia's 2021 generational election decisively demonstrated that parents will not accept the racialization of public schooling. NBC's efforts will only foment further opposition.

As I say, when matters become complex, seek a wise man for knowledge:
