Steph Curry Avoids Serious Injury After Rolling Ankle Against Chicago

The Golden State Warriors dodged a bullet when they got news on Steph Curry’s injury from last night’s game against the Chicago Bulls.

Late in the fourth quarter, Curry was driving to the hoop after receiving a pass from Draymond Green - who made it through last night’s game without assaulting anyone. As Curry cut towards the basket, his right ankle twisted awkwardly despite not landing on an opponent’s foot.

Curry limped off the court in obvious pain, and was not on the floor to help his team avoid a 125-122 loss. It was just the Warriors’ third loss in their last 10 games.

The Warriors could ill-afford to lose Curry (who is unquestionably their best player) as the regular season nears its end. Golden State sits at just four games above .500 (33-29), which is barely good enough for a play-in spot at the moment.

Fortunately, the Warriors will not have to live in a world without Curry, at least for the remainder of the season. NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Curry will barely miss any time at all for Golden State, and that he’ll be back in action in a few days.

Despite being 35 years old and playing on one of the worst Golden State teams in recent memory, Curry has found a way to put up solid numbers. He is averaging 26.9 points per game on 44.9 percent shooting. If he can continue to avoid serious injuries, he might just will the Warriors into the postseason.
