Rookie Raptor Impressing Superstar Kevin Durant

After the Nets took care of the Raptors 116-103, Kevin Durant couldn't help but shower praises on one opposing player in particular:

Raptors No. 4 overall pick, Scottie Barnes.

"How old is he? Durant asked postgame. "19?...20? Sheesh."

That's pretty freakin' cool and an incredible endorsement from a guy who knows talent when he sees it. KD's been around...

Here's his full postgame:

Now I don't want to read too much into Durant's words, however I find it difficult to ignore the admiration and smile when KD speaks of anything Toronto. So far, Durant thinks the Raptors' first round pick, Scottie Barnes, is a home run of a selection, that Nick Nurse is the coach for the job, and that Toronto has a killer fan base. What doesn't he like?

Durant isn't exactly speaking against his own environment in Brooklyn, but he also rarely speaks this highly of his peers in New York. His silence regarding Nets culture makes his praises for an opposing franchise even more noteworthy. Doesn't mean he hates Brooklyn or isn't totally happy, I'm simply observing how he speaks of each franchise through our media.

Scottie Barnes is averaging 16.6 points on 52.4 percent shooting nine games into his rookie campaign. That's scary good at the age of 20.
