Paul George Thinks He's On A Revenge Tour

Clippers forward Paul George did a whole lot of talking last year and very little to back it up on the court. He's off to a solid start this season and now insists he's on a mission.

"People saw weakness," George said. "I'm coming back with vengeance."

This was the mindset of Paul George heading into the season, but what PG doesn't understand is the "weakness" fans see is coming out his mouth. Precisely why Cleveland Browns' quarterback Baker Mayfield told Fox Sports' Colin Cowherd he was "done talking about it", and now he focuses on winning.

Mayfield comes off as more mature because he ditched the inspirational speeches about the future of the Browns. Now Mayfield leads his team into Kansas City and he didn't have to say a word about a revenge tour.

Winning took care of negative public perception, didn't it?

George isn't taking advice. And if he was, any spectator of basketball would tell him to say less. Averaging 25.3 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 5.2 assists is All-NBA level play, and he didn't have to set the table for his "revenge tour", either.

What's most important about Paul George's season has literally nothing to do with the regular season, by the way. If PG arrives to the playoffs and lays another egg--his revenge tour falls on its face. Again, he would be the laughingstock of the league.

So if Paul George ever gets this message: PG, just play and prepare yourself for what really matters. Your flight to revenge island doesn't take off until tip-off of game-one round-one.
