No Plans Expected For Permanent Kobe Statue Near Crash Site

A statue commemorating departed Lakers legend Kobe Bryant and daughter Gigi Bryant has been championed by the people of Los Angeles.

Calabasas city officials have been pressed on whether a permanent statue will be built in the hills where the fatal helicopter crash took place — extending the city's memory of Kobe and Gigi.

The city had no good news to share after officials cited "no plans for any sort of memorial at the crash site," according to TMZ.

The Mountains Recreation Conservation Authority group confirmed that a permanent memorial is out of the question for the foreseeable future.

January 26 marked the second anniversary of the tragic accident, with countless murals marked throughout Los Angeles to keep Bean's influence going strong.

On the two-year mark, local Los Angeles artist Dan Medina satiated requests for a tribute piece by creating a 160-lb. bronze statue to honor Kobe and Gigi.

With or without the city's statue, Lakers fans and basketball savants will carry on the Mamba Mentality.
