Is Giannis Antetokounmpo Planning A Milwaukee Exit?

If ever there were an appropriate time to use the wide eyes emoji in Milwaukee, it's right now. For the first time in weeks, a cheese state icon other than Aaron Rodgers suddenly has Milwaukee area fans on edge. The reason for concern? Two-time reigning NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo recently opened the door for a potential exit from Milwaukee.

"The next challenge might not be here,” Giannis told GQ's Zach Baron.


Antetokounmpo was discussing his Bucks future as part of a wide-ranging interview with GQ, who named the NBA Champion their Athlete of the Year. When discussing the challenge he faced in leading the Bucks to a championship for the first time in 50 years, the Greek Freak let slip that future accomplishments may come outside of the only NBA home he's known.

“One challenge was to bring a championship here and we did,” said Antetokounmpo to GQ. “It was very hard, but we did. Very, very hard. I just love challenges. What’s the next challenge? The next challenge might not be here.”

And just like that, Wisconsin residents have something other than bratwursts to blame for their sudden chest pains.
