Former Laker Derek Fisher Refers To Russell Westbrook As 'Westbrick'

Former Lakers guard Derek Fisher has caused quite the stir on social media when he referred to Russell Westbrook as "Russell Westbrick". Obviously Derek Fisher will insist on an honest mistake, however we all know he's said this in private at least a few times.

Westbrook can't hit the broad side of a barn from three right now, so the nickname is warranted, and most importantly, hilarious.

Russell Westbrook happens to be shooting 21.9 percent from the field, which makes us wonder why anyone on that Lakers staff allows him to take these shots? We can assume head coach Frank Vogel and LeBron tell the 32-year-old guard to only take threes when the defense leaves him entirely to force the defense to guard him -- the daunting reality is that the Lakers, or any team Westbrook has ever played on, would've been better off letting their offense run its course to find another player to score, rather than allowing Russell Westbrook to hoist open jumpers.

Whether they're open or contested, there's no logical explanation for Westbrook to have the green light on a single three in an NBA game. Early in his career, when he posted season three-point percentages in the low 30's, yes, but that's just not the case anymore.

Here's LeBron gassing him up after a light schedule with a back-to-back against the Rockets twice helped the Lakers get return to their winning ways:

"Russ is a special player," James said. "He's being himself over the last few weeks. Most explosive point guard in NBA history."

LeBron is trying to take some pressure off Westbrook by giving him some credit for posting some high-point nights. This is fool's gold as LeBron knows better than arguably anyone that the Lakers don't need "the most explosive point guard in NBA history" right now -- the Lakers need a player that can space the floor for the LeBron/Davis duo. Preferably a guy that can shoot the ball worth a damn.

Lakers GM Rob Pelinka should've pulled the trigger on the Buddy Hield deal when he had the chance. All they're left with now is a player that's refused to make an adjustment the past decade to the point where former Lakers are laughing in his face. He can't even get mad either, Derek Fisher is on the money.
