Duke Haters Rejoice! J.J. Redick's Done Burying Threes

JJ Redick has retired from basketball after 15 seasons in the NBA. He's a Duke product who sunk 1,950 career three-pointers and who rarely ever utilized raw talent. Turns out, you can make $116 million in the NBA without being a freak of nature.

Redick said his goodbyes via his podcast "Old Man And The Three."

As I previously mentioned, Redick had VERY little athleticism to rely on. He mentioned in his video how thankful he was for coaches who steered him towards hard work all the way back to pre-high school basketball, which goes to show that without that work ethic, he doesn't make it.

All those hours in the gym, however, landed him just ONE career dunk:

The 37-year-old sharpshooter played for the Mavericks, Pelicans, 76ers, Clippers, Bucks, and Magic as a reliable asset to spread the floor. Reddick's role in the NBA grew in importance as the league embraced the "3-and-D" wing players to defend star players from double teams and zones. And being honest, he probably could've landed another gig or two to cross into the 2,000 career threes club. But as he mentioned, it's time for a new chapter as a father, which he seems quite excited about.

Must be nice retiring at 37 with phenomenal hair, a loving family, a successful podcast, and a boatload of cash. Congratulations on an incredible career, JJ.
