'Monica Lewinsky,' 'Linda Tripp' Face Off In New Drama Series Teaser

The anthology series American Crime Story returns this September, this time focusing on the infamous Bill Clinton-Monica Lewinsky sex scandal.

The first season of American Crime Story told the story of the People v. O. J. Simpson, and the second showcased the assassination of Gianni Versace. The events of this third season led to Clinton's impeachment in 1998.

FX released a teaser of the upcoming season, introducing viewers to Sarah Paulson as Linda Tripp and Beanie Feldstein as Monica Lewinsky:

"The blue dress, it would be smart to keep that, uncleaned, in your possession," Tripp says.

Minor spoiler for those who have forgotten or who were too young to have lived through these events: Tripp secretly recorded the conversations with Lewinsky, which she then later turned over as evidence against Clinton. That's the reason Tripp invites Lewinsky to "tell everything."

FX has a chance to tell an incredible story with its cast of characters. Most notably, Edie Falco will star as Hillary Clinton. From Carmela Soprano to Hillary Clinton -- what a resume.

Clive Owen will portray Bill Clinton, while Billy Eichner takes the role of Matt Drudge, who broke the news that a magazine company was sitting on information regarding the president's relationship with Lewinsky.

FX says the series is based on Jeffrey Toobin's book A Vast Conspiracy: The Real Story of the Sex Scandal That Nearly Brought Down a President. With 10 episodes, FX has the air time to dive deep into the scandal's backstory -- the notable reactions, emotions, and media coverage.

"My life is over," Lewinsky says in the clip.

Impeachment: American Crime Story premieres September 7th.
