It's been a rough start for the New York Yankees, who finally on Tuesday ended a five-game losing streak with a 3-1 win over the Atlanta Braves.

You could sense that it wasn't just one 'normal' win out of 162 games. It was a game that the Yankees hope is the chance to put the slow start behind them.

New York sits at 6-10, 4-6 at home.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone expressed some relief and optimism after the win over the Braves.

"It's definitely nice after the week we've had. I think guys do exhale a little bit," Boone said after the win.

"But the resolve in that room and the confidence in that room, even though we've taken it on the chin here a little bit, hasn't changed. These guys know they're going to be a beast and they're going to be a problem and we're going to get there and hopefully sooner rather than later."

They may have won the game, but the Yankees still had the same issues at the plate they have been dealing with all year, which include missing opportunities with runners in scoring position. The team went just 2-for-8 with runners in scoring position against the Braves.

They were able to overcome it though and avoid what would have been their worst start since 1972.

After the game, Gio Urshela acknowledged how important it is for the team to keep building.

"Every win, it's important to get that confidence back," Urshela said.
