Tampa Bay Rays Announce The Call-Up Of MLB's Top Prospect, Wander Franco
The Tampa Bay Rays are scuffling these days. They're sitting 13 games over .500, which isn't terrible, but they're still not the same as they were earlier in the year.
The team is hoping for a spark, so the club has called up top MLB prospect Wander Franco.
Franco played in 39 games in Triple-A Durham, where he hit .315 with seven home runs and 35 RBIs.
He will join the Rays for their series against the Boston Red Sox beginning Tuesday in Tampa.
Tampa has lost their last six games. It's the longest losing streak for the team since the team lost eight in a row back in May of 2018.
The Rays have had to reach deep down after the team suffered four walk-off losses in their past five games.
Franco has played primarily shortstop at Durham, starting 28 games there. He also can play third and second base.
