MLB Releases 2022 Schedule, Check On Your Favorite Team
The 2021 Major League Baseball season isn't really close to over, but it's time to plan for 2022 anyway.
That's because MLB released its 162-game schedule for next year, and all 30 teams will be in action when the first pitch is thrown on March 31.
The schedule also includes the usual interleague matchups, featurig the AL East vs. the NL Central, the AL Central vs. the NL West and the AL West vs. the NL East. So brace yourself for the vaunted Orioles-Cubs matchup in early June. Or something.
Anyway, the MLB was its usual over-the-top self in making the announcement, pumping up Opening Day almost as if it were the first one history.
"Opening Day is jam-packed with intrigue, as the schedule features 11 divisional matchups in addition to one Interleague showdown between the Phillies and Astros at Minute Maid Park in Houston," per a release from the league. "Jackie Robinson Day on April 15 also has a full slate of 15 games, including a matchup between the Reds and Dodgers at Dodger Stadium, the site of the 92nd All-Star Game on July 19."
The league went on to point out schedule highlights for every club. You can check out each team's schedule right here.
