Max Scherzer Shreds Astros In Dodgers Debut
Less than a week ago, the Dodgers turned the baseball world upside down with a blockbuster trade that landed them Max Scherzer and Trea Turner. Yesterday, Scherzer made his debut in Dodger blue at home against the Astros to the tune of seven innings, one run, and ten punch outs.
Take that, Houston.
Scherzer already got his revenge by being part of the 2019 Washington Nationals World Series winning team, but this had to feel good anyway. Known cheaters stuck facing one of the game's best right-handed arms in their return to Dodgers Stadium? It all turned out beautifully. Dodgers won 7-5, and Jose Altuve had four strikeouts.
That last part felt good to write. Because honestly, we can't stand that guy.
Max Scherzer and the Dodgers are likely to prevail in the National League this year after their sudden editions, so at least their superiority helped us feel some revenge over the Astros who got off scot free. We'd much rather commissioner Rob Manfred do his job and strip the Astros of their 2017 World Series title, though. Dare I say we just saw a World Series preview?
