'Mattress Mack' Hoping To Cash Big Check If Astros Win World Series
Jim "Mattress Mack" McIngvale is back and this time, he's looking to win $35.6 million from sports betting. All McIngvale needs is for the Astros to win their second World Series title in four years and just like that, McIngvale is a big winner.
The Houston furniture store owner has been known to lay down some monster bets, most notably on the Super Bowl this year. McIngvale put a $3.46 million wager on the Buccaneers to cover the 3.5-point spread, the largest bet placed on the game. The wager hit of course, and McIngvale won $2.72 million.
McIngvale is even more all in for his beloved Astros, so much so that he bet $3.25 million at four separate sportsbooks for Houston to win the World Series. He also bet $2 million at the Caesars Sportsbook-owned William Hill.
Per the Action Network, McIngvale would receive $22 million alone from the William Hill bet, which would be the largest bet payout in U.S. history. It's safe to say that "Mattress Mack" has some deep pockets already, but he's looking for more.
For McIngvale to make history, the Astros will first need to put away the White Sox in the ALDS. Houston jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the series, before dropping Game 3 in Chicago. The pivotal Game 4 was scheduled to take place today at 3:37 p.m. CT but was postponed due to rain.
The two teams will go head-to-head tomorrow at 1:07 p.m. CT, with Houston advancing to the ALCS with a victory.
