Johnny Damon During Arrest: 'Guys, We Are All For Cops'
Bodycam footage of Johnny Damon and his wife did neither any favors after they were pulled over for suspicion of DUI. In fact, it revealed that the former MLB star outfielder has either become really wobbly-legged, or he really was impaired.
The footage from the Windermere (Fla.) Police Department shows Damon and wife, Michelle Mangan-Damon, arguing with officers. Things got especially heated after Mangan-Damon was told to stay in the SUV -- but she got out anyway.
"Don’t touch me," Mangan-Damon obnoxiously told the office. "Don’t f—ing touch me."
Later, Damon struggled with an officer, knocking the bodycam to the ground. But at least Damon was a little more cordial about it than his wife.
All of this happened Feb. 18, when Damon was pulled over for swerving into a curb. He was charged with DUI and reportedly had a blood alcohol level between .294 and .300 — nearly four times the state limit of .08. His wife was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting an officer with violence.
Footage from the arrest was released Tuesday, and if you have two hours to kill (yes, two hours), you can check it out in its entirety below.
Damon, 47, played in the MLB from 1995-2012, his best seasons coming with the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees. He was a two-time All-Star and two-time World Series champion. He was also the AL stolen-bases leader in 2000.
On the bright side, he said during his arrest that he is pro police.
"Believe me, I am Blue Lives Matter," Damon said. "What are you doing right now? We are all for cops. Guys, we are all for cops."
