Fans Love Al Michaels’ Appearance On Sunday Night Baseball

Legendary broadcaster Al Michaels made an appearance on ESPN Sunday night, taking part in a little storytime on the broadcast of Sunday night baseball between the Cubs and White Sox at Wrigley Field.

The game was rather lackluster, as the Sox scored seven times in the first two innings on the way to a 9-3 victory.

Michaels, who is now 76 and is best known now for calling Sunday night football games on NBC, shared a classic story about the first time fellow Hall of Fame broadcaster Bob Costas met outspoken sports icon Howard Cosell.








That wasn't the only story Michaels would go on to tell during the segment, and fans soon tuned in just to hear what he would say next.

“I would absolutely love if Al Michaels came back to commentate baseball games. Even if it was just occasionally, I’d be fine with it,” a fan tweeted out about the appearance.
