Dodgers Cancel Trevor Bauer Bobble Head Night Scheduled For August

Trevor Bauer's bobblehead night in August has been canceled, according to the team. It's really too bad allegations are all you need to get someone axed these days. The allegations do look brutal, but it's probably worth giving your ace his day in court before you eject him.

To be perfectly clear, I won't be serving as Bauer's defense attorney, but I am an advocate of letting all sides speak. It seems professional sports organizations skip due process to avoid negative PR in 2021.

The Dodgers ace is expected to appear in court July 23 in Los Angeles Super Court, and hopefully we get more clarity on the situation. Will the Dodgers re-instate Bauer for bobblehead night if he knocks it out the park in court?

In defense of the Dodgers, I will say part of their job is to determine whether a player's presence is a distraction for the team. There's no doubt 50,000 booing fans at Dodgers Stadium wouldn't help the team capture their ninth-straight division title. A tough spot for sure.
