NBA Finals Ratings Tank Again

Last year, the NBA media demanded that we discount the 2020 NBA Finals' ratings because those Finals took place out of season and during a pandemic. So out of respect, I have erased the 2020 ratings from my mind. Instead, as the NBA requested one year ago, I'm comparing this season's numbers to those from 2019. Good, we are on the same page.

When I look at the numbers for 2021 and compare them to 2019, I find that the NBA Finals tanked again. Game 2 of the Bucks-Suns matchup averaged 9.38 million viewers, down big from two seasons ago (the last season that counted). In 2019, Game 2 between the Raptors-Warriors drew 14.05 million, which itself was an epic tank-job from 2018's 18.47 million Game 2 equivalent.

It just keeps getting worse.

Thus far, the 2021 NBA Finals have averaged 8.97 million viewers. Those are historically bad numbers. Very awful. In order to ameliorate those horrible numbers, NBA media have realized they must now factor in the all-time low 2020 NBA Finals ratings to make this year's numbers somehow seem less terrible. Yes, the same Finals ratings they told us we either had to erase from our memories or we were racist.

The formerly discounted 2020 season is now the subject of every NBA press release. Here's ESPN latest spin-job:

The suckers on Twitter and TV fall for it every time.

What's interesting is that far-Left scumbags like LeBron James and Steve Kerr have sunk interest in the NBA so low that fans refuse to come back even for the likable players on the Suns and Bucks' rosters.

Like half of the country, I stopped watching the NBA last year as the league spread hate and lies to its small audience. However, I semi-returned after the Suns bounced the race-baiting fraud LeBron James in the first round. It appears I'm more forgiving than others.

The Finals in 2017 drew 20 million viewers. They now draw less than half that. The NBA is a damaged product. Broken.
