Milwaukee Police Officer Shot In Line Of Duty Gifted Tickets To Super Bowl

A Milwaukee police officer, who was shot in the line of duty last week, is headed to the Super Bowl to see his favorite team play thanks to a local media organization.

WTMJ-AM gifted the tickets to Milwaukee Police Officer Herbert Davis during Tuesday’s afternoon news show. He told the station he planned to bring his father with him to the game in Los Angeles.

On Thursday, Davis responded to reports of a sick or injured man but when he arrived he discovered a man slumped over in a vehicle. Fox News reports that when he attempted to check on him, the suspect attempted to flee on foot and exchanged gunfire with the officer.

Davis, a self-proclaimed Cincinnati Bengals superfan, even wore Bengals gear when he was released from the hospital on Sunday, WTMJ reported.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that a GoFundMe established to offset expenses for the Davis family mentioned the possibility of fundraising for a chance to see the Bengals play in the Super Bowl.

The station, along with its parent company, took care of the Super Bowl detail instead.
