Majority Of Americans Believe COVID-19 Began In Wuhan Lab, Favor Making China Pay For Global Damages
The origins of the COVID-19 pandemic continue to become an online tug-of-war and political bout between people that believe China's claim that the pandemic did not begin in a lab, and those willing to hold the regime accountable for their continued threat to global well-being.
When polled about the origins of COVID, via the Ronald Reagan Institute’s 2021 National Defense Survey, and asked whether it originated from a Wuhan lab, 72 percent of Americans said it was "likely to very likely."
The growing sentiment has kept China on the hot seat as the pandemic maintains a stronghold on public health across the globe. Nearly two years since its inception, the virus has killed over five million people worldwide and hit a case total of 263 million, and counting.
Even between conservative, liberal or moderate groups, the poll results showcased a consensus on the Wuhan lab origin. Republicans showed an 86 percent majority agreeing with the lab leak theory — with 61 percent of Democrats buying in with their political opponents. Among independent voters, 67 percent joined the opinion.
The majority of participants were also in favor of a fine, or "reparations," for China's connection to the creation of the virus — whose effect has reverted societies to a primitive caste system among the infected, uninfected, vaccinated and non-vaccinated.
"If the theory was proven, 76 percent of Americans think China should pay reparations to other nations as a penalty, including 82 percent of Republicans and 72 percent of both Independents and Democrats," stated the poll data.
As Americans maintain pressure on China to answer for their wrongdoings, the CCP has stuck to its damage control, publicly calling the lab leak theory "unscientific."
According to a Reuters report, a leading Chinese official, Wang Wenbin, denounced an FBI intelligence report insisting "natural origin and a lab leak were both plausible hypotheses to explain how SARS-CoV-2, the virus responsible for COVID-19 first infected humans." Wenbin said the U.S. intelligence's claim was "without credibility."
