Joy Reid, Nicolle Wallace Use Election Night To Audition for Rachel Maddow's Job

Rachel Maddow has the option to terminate her nightly television show in April 2022 and pivot to a weekly program, for which MSNBC is bracing. Meanwhile, Maddow hosted MSNBC's election coverage on Tuesday next to two personalities vying for her 9 pm time slot: Joy Reid and Nicolle Wallace.

(I'm only glad no white men made the cut.)

If the goal was to make Maddow appear moderate, MSNBC was wise to place her near Reid, a known racist, and Wallace, a screeching elitist. As expected, both Reid and Wallace essentially recorded audition tapes last night. Could they be the future of MSNBC? Rivals of the network certainly hope so.

Staffers inside NBC view Wallace as thefrontrunner for Maddow's time slot, should Maddow walk away from daily primetime in the spring.

"Nicolle is the most obvious in-house candidate," said an NBC executive quoted in Dylan Byers' report.

I agree MSNBC will consider Wallace. Like Maddow, Wallace denies reality, which MSNBC viewers appreciate. 

According to Wallace, Critical Race Theory isn't real. Does that mean we can remove it if it doesn't exist? Wallace didn't tell us. Instead, she pivoted to Glenn Youngkin, saying he "flew his insurrectionist flag":

Wallace also made headlines a couple of months ago when she claimed that 95% of Americans loved President Joe Biden's blundering speech on Afghanistan. Wallace didn't cite data to support her claim in that case either.

Moreover, Wallace told Dr. Fauci he "looked good" following the publication of his emails regarding gain of function research. Of course, not even Wallace believed herself there.

At this point, you are probably wondering what's wrong with Nicolle Wallace. The answer is Joy Reid. To stand out, Wallace must outdo Reid and go one step farther than that racist schmuck.

Let's review:

Because Reid referred to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas as "Uncle Clarence" -- in an obvious "Uncle Tom" reference -- during MSNBC's election night coverage in 2020, the network awarded her another seat on the main desk this year. And since producers can't write scripts for Reid during breaking news coverage, she had to poorly ad-lib throughout the evening. So she called white people racist.

Reid then shamed parents who voted on Tuesday with their children's education in mind. In the Virginia gubernatorial election, education played a crucial role, but Reid claims that this emphasis on education was "coded" in racism.

"It's code for white parents who don't like the idea about teaching about race," Reid said.

"Unfortunately, race is just the most palpable tool in the tool kit. Used to be in the Democratic Party back in the day, when there were Dixiecrats," she continued. "And now of the Republican Party, it just is powerful."

Because parents don't want teachers to separate children into oppressor or victim categories, they must be white supremacists. Got it.

Imagine what Reid is like in her downtime. We know she hangs out with Jemele Hill, an equally disgusting pundit. If we had to guess, we'd assume Reid spends her time discussing white women. She loathes their existence.

"McAuliffe losing white women 57 to 43... this is all about race isn't it?" Reid concluded.

Their racist obsession with white women even prevented Reid and Wallace from discussing Winsome Sears, a black conservative woman who was elected to be the next lieutenant governor of Virginia. She is the first woman of color elected to that office in the history of the commonwealth. But the Sears story hardly made the rundown.

In the minds of MSNBC executives, Reid and white woman Nicolle Wallace gave two solid auditions last night. Election night 2021 was an especially important test for both women because viewers typically tune in for special coverage. Conversely, on a day-to-day basis, Reid and Wallace are hemorrhaging viewers, ranking 17th and 20th in cable news for October, respectively.

So despite three years of Russian collusion talking points, Rachel Maddow was the sanest host on MSNBC's election desk. Think about that. How horrifying does that make Reid and Wallace?
