Henry Ruggs III Arrested: Charged With Felony DUI, Reckless Driving Resulting in Death
Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs III was booked into Clark County Detention Center just after 2 p.m. Tuesday, following an early morning car crash that left one person dead.
Ruggs was booked just after 2 p.m. Tuesday and officially charged with DUI Resulting in Substantial Bodily Harm and reckless driving resulting in death or substantial bodily harm — both felony charges, according to Clark County public records.

OutKick previously reported that Las Vegas attorneys David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld released a statement indicating they would be representing the Raiders wide receiver.
“On behalf of our client Henry Ruggs III, we are conducting our own investigation as of this writing and ask everyone to reserve judgment until all the facts are gathered,” the attorneys said in a joint statement released to the press.
Earlier Tuesday, Las Vegas Metro Police Department said it responded to a traffic collision just before 4 a.m. involving a Corvette and a Toyota RAV4.
Police said that fire department personnel responded and located a deceased victim inside the Toyota and the initial investigation shows that the Corvette collided with the rear of the RAV4.
"The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as 22-year-old Henry Rugs III, remained on scene and showed signs of impairment," LVMPD tweeted Tuesday afternoon. "He was transported to UMC hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Ruggs will be charged with DUI resulting in death."
The Raiders confirmed they were aware of the situation in a statement Tuesday afternoon.
“The Raiders are aware of an accident involving Henry Ruggs III that occurred this morning in Las Vegas,” the team wrote in a statement.
“We are devastated by the loss of life and our thoughts and prayers go out to the victim’s family. We are in the process of gathering information and will have no further comment at this time.”
An NFL spokesperson also released a statement on the situation, per NFL Networks' Tom Pelissero.
“Our hearts go out to the family and friends of the victim of this horrific tragedy. We will continue to gather facts and monitor the matter under our policies, but our thoughts at this time are with those impacted by this devastating incident.”
Pelissero reported that under the league's personal conduct policy, Ruggs could land on the commissioner's exempt list once he's formally charged with a felony.
Ruggs, a first-round pick out of Alabama in the 2020 Draft, has 469 reception yards and two touchdowns through seven games for the Raiders.
