COVID-19 Case Counts Continue To Plummet, Data Shows

COVID-19 fears are starting to disappear, now that states are beginning to open, people are shedding their masks, and sports stadiums are welcoming 100% capacity. And the data shows all of that comes with good reason.

According to Johns Hopkins University, new cases of the coronavirus dropped to a seven-day average of about 31,200 -- down 18% from the previous week.

That's also down significantly from a month ago, when Johns Hopkins reported the seven-day average of positive test results at about 71,000.

"The country is reporting an average of 1.8 million vaccinations per day over the past week, federal data shows," CNBC relayed. "That figure has been on a mostly downward trend from its peak level of 3.4 million daily shots on April 13."
