CBS Will Have Celebs Judge Activism on New Show
It's not just the Many Saints of Newark,Succession, Yellowstone, and Lord of the Rings you have to find time for over the next 12 months. It's also The Activist, at least according to a portion of busy Twitter users.
CBS announced Friday the "first-of-its-kind competition series" will feature Usher, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Julianne Hough as the hosts who will judge activist contestants.
Just what we all demanded: three elitist celebrities speaking to pandering non-activists pretending to make a change.
Fittingly, the judges will measure the contestants via "online engagement and social metrics." Got that? What rates on social media will seal the win.
The show released the following details:
"The three teams have one ultimate goal: to create impactful movements that amplify their message, drive action, and advance them to the G20 Summit in Rome, Italy. There, they will meet with world leaders in the hope of securing funding and awareness for their causes. The team that receives the largest commitment is celebrated as the overall winner at the finale, which will also feature musical performances by some of the world's most passionate artists."
