Ben Domenech To Get Tryout Week on Fox News at 7 pm

Ben Domenech will get a tryout on the Fox News 7 pm program, Fox News Primetime, the week of April 19, sources tell OutKick. Fox News has confirmed the news to us.

Until Domenech's addition, Fox News had stuck with the initial rotation of seven personalities: Trey Gowdy, Brian Kilmeade, Maria Bartiromo, Mark Steyn, Rachel Campos-Duffy, Lawrence Jones, and Katie Pavlich. Lawrence Jones will return for his second run next week.

It's unclear whether more personalities will join the rotation before a permanent host is named. As I've written before, Pete Hegseth and Will Cain are two personalities that'll likely break out in a solo, weekday format.

From a viewership standpoint, Trey Gowdy has recorded the first (3/8: 2,057,000) and second (2/1: 1,988,000) highest weeks on Fox News Primetime.

The cases among the now eight personalities vary: Kilmeade for his name recognition and experience, Bartiromo for headline-generating comments, Pavlich for her upside, and Campos-Duffy as a viewer-favorite. I expect Domenech to try to sell the network on his in-depth analysis, a format that translates well between Bret Baier and Tucker Carlson.

Fox News signed Ben Domenech, The Federalist publisher and co-founder, to a contributor deal in February, on which he also hosts a weekly podcast.
