LSU-Florida Postponed (Update)

Saturday's matchup between LSU and Florida is expected to be postponed, Brooks Kubena reports for The Advocate in Baton Rouge. If and when this news becomes official, it will mark the second SEC game to be postponed due to Covid-19. This weekend's game between Missouri and Vanderbilt has also been postponed.

On Tuesday, Florida announced that five new players had tested positive for Covid-19. Florida's student newspaper, The Independent Alligator, reported Tuesday that a total of 19 players had tested positive. We knew at that point the game was in limbo.

Florida coach Dan Mullen, who earlier this week said he wanted fans to pack the swamp with 90,000 fans for the LSU game, sought to clarify those remarks earlier today:








The SEC has two bye weeks per team built into their schedule to account for postponements due to Covid-19 protocols.
