Celebrity Deathmatch has been a much more prophetic show than some of us anticipated back in the day.

After Sunday's Logan Paul-Floyd Mayweather boxing event, audiences can tune in this week to watch a bout between former Lakers forward Lamar Odom and spoiled celebrity Aaron Carter.

Odom, who struggled with substance abuse and survived a drug-induced coma in 2015, has been using boxing as a way to mend a broken past both in and out of the NBA.

Prepping throughout the pandemic year, Odom used his training to avoid the mental struggles encountered with the lockdowns and to fight off temptations of past addictions. Lamar committed to training for a potential match and is now slated to fight Carter on Friday, June 11 in an exhibition fight scheduled for three rounds.

While the event seems as low-production as the idea of an Odom vs. Carter boxing event ought to be, Lamar Odom is set on winning this fight to establish a new benchmark in his path to recovery.

Over 70 lbs. heavier than Carter and much more of a physical threat than the waifish warrior, Odom's giving this match his best, which is bad news for Carter.

On the bright side, Aaron Carter appears to be cognizant of the potential beatdown that Odom can unleash because of their incredible size difference.

"I’m really excited to be fighting Lamar Odom," said the 33-year-old Carter, who also struggled with substance abuse. "This is a crazy matchup. It’s like David and Goliath. He’s 6 ft. 7 in., I’m 6 ft. 1 in. So it’s gonna be kind of crazy. I’m really looking forward to this fight."

Carter also went on to say, "I just wanna let you guys know that I’m not just a music producer, an entertainer, a singer, a dancer. I’m also a fighter. I grew up street fighting and I’m really looking forward to this match. But my dad always said, ‘The bigger they are, the harder they fall.’ So, Lamar, I’ll see you there bro."

Audiences can only hope that Carter survives the three-round fight with as little damage bestowed on him as possible.

The event will be held at the Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City, hosted by rapper and SVU star Ice-T .
