Kyle Larson Asked About Returning To NASCAR, Could Suspension Be Lifted?

Suspended driver Kyle Larson, who has been dominating the sprint car circuit since being banished by NASCAR, was recently asked MRN Winged Nation about a possible return to the top of the sport. Larson, who was fired for his use of the n-word during a virtual race, says he'd have interest in a return, but right now he's extremely busy with the sprint car circuit where his average finishing position is 3.763 in 38 starts.

"I've been so busy just racing pretty much every day of the week that I haven't even had time to work on anything. But yeah, I would love an opportunity if it came," said Larson. "But at the same time, I'm also having a ton of fun right now. There's a lot to weigh, and there's nothing really that's come up either. I haven't had to make too many tough decisions or anything like that.

"But yeah, definitely, if the opportunity was there I would love to give it a shot to get back and prove to the NASCAR world that I am a great racecar driver. And I know if I got the right opportunity, I could win a lot of races like I am right now."

Larson was suspended in April and it doesn't take a genius to know the world of NASCAR is a much different place than it was when it suspended him for the n-word. Now you have Bubba Wallace as the social media face of the sport, but that has quieted down since the sport moved over to NBC Sports from Fox Sports.

Would NASCAR figure out a way to bring back Larson to create a racial divide storyline? Would sponsors go for it? Would it sell? Would it increase eyeballs now that we're closing in on football season? But Bubba Wallace was down with Larson getting a second chance back in April.

"I am not mad at him, and I believe that he, along with most people deserve second chances, and deserve space to improve," Wallace wrote on social media. "I do wish him and his family nothing but the best. And I am more than willing to work with him to address diversity and inclusion in our sport."
