Netflix Wins $450 Million Auction for ‘Knives Out’ Sequels

Netflix struck a deal to pay an eye-opening $450 million for the rights to Knives Out 2 and Knives Out 3, the upcoming sequels to the 2019 murder mystery film.

Don't worry, Daniel Craig is back as private detective Benoit Blanc.

This is a big win for Netflix. Knives Out is one the best films to come out in the past three years, well suited for a trilogy run. The riveting film is quirky yet doesn't lose its mysterious feel. Deadline says Netflix outbid its competitors Apple and Amazon auction-style for the films.

Though Amazon, HBO Max, Disney+, Hulu, Apple, and Peacock all offer quality content, Netflix still sits atop the Streaming Wars.

Rian Johnson will return to direct the film and has already written the sequels. Johnson was nominated for an Oscar for best original screenplay.

The first picture will begin shooting on June 28 in Greece and casting will begin immediately.
