“I’m gonna take a very reserved guess and say 110% he’s going to run.”
Those were the words of former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany on whether she thinks Donald Trump will run for president in 2024.
“I can’t imagine a scenario where he doesn’t,” McEnany tells Clay Travis and Buck Sexton. “You know, I get the sense he’s raring and ready to go back out there.”

Trump maintains that he will make an announcement after the 2022 midterms. In addition to McEnany, Bill O’Reilly, who’s planning a history tour with Trump, has also put the odds at close to 100%. O’Reilly knows Trump as well as anyone in media. Their relationship precedes Trump’s presidency.
Should Trump run in 2024, he’ll enter the Republican primary as the prohibitive favorite. And in a generation election, Paddy Power, a UK gambling company, lists Trump as the betting favorite over President Joe Biden.
More to the point, some Democrats fear that Biden, who has noticeable cognitive decline, couldn’t beat Trump a second time. A recent NPR/PBS poll found that 44% of Democrats want someone other than Biden to run, compared to 36% who want Biden to run for reelection.
That said, I would expect Biden to run again in 2024 because the Democrats lack a bench. Kamala Harris and her 28% approval rating certainly aren’t the answer. Harris is so disastrous that some Democrats are reportedly plotting to put her on the Supreme Court to make sure she never takes over the White House. Hillary Clinton is cringe — I mean, really cringe. So who else is there? Pete Buttigieg, who can’t handle his current role?
It’s going to be Biden. And according to McEnany, Biden against Trump.
