Kamala Harris is a Hypocrite on Brittney Griner Sentencing

While Vice President Kamala Harris is not the only hypocrite supposedly outraged over Brittney Griner's sentencing in Russia, she's perhaps the cringiest offender with the least amount of credibility.

"With today’s sentencing, Russia continues its wrongful detention of Brittney Griner. She should be released immediately," Harris tweeted on Thursday. "@POTUS and I, and our entire Administration, are working every day to reunite Brittney, as well as Paul Whelan, with loved ones who miss each of them dearly."

Enforcing excessive prison terms for drug users is a practice Harris knows well. While attorney general in California, she strategized to keep drug users behind bars longer than their sentences warranted, reports document.

Specifically, Attorney General Harris subverted a 2011 Supreme Court ruling requiring the state to reduce its prison population with fewer non-violent offenders. To hell with the Court's ruling, Harris said.

All in, more than 1,900 people were imprisoned in California for marijuana-related offenses while Harris served as attorney general.

As former Democratic congresswoman and presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard told Fox News host Will Cain, no one takes Harris' comments on this subject seriously.

"Another note of hypocrisy coming from Kamala Harris and this administration is you mentioned during her illustrious record as attorney general in California…she kept prisoners in prison longer than their sentences to use them as free slave labor yet at the same time these very same people are condemning other countries for doing the exact same thing," Gabbard told Cain who filled in for Tucker Carlson in primetime on Friday.

Gabbard, to be clear, also opposes Griner's sentence. She's instead pushing back at Harris using the situation for political gain, which she has.

While marketing her thoughts on Griner, Harris has spent minimal energy on the slew of Americans still in prison for minor marijuana violations.

"How come you are not fighting as hard for to be returned home and reunited with their families as you are for Brittney Griner?" Gabbard asks. " condemning other countries for doing the exact same thing."

Harris is an opportunist, first and foremost. She tried to destroy the lives of pot smokers and then claimed she smoked weed in college while listening to Tupac.

She must have been something in those college days. Maybe that's where she picked up the cackle?

The VP isn't much of a voice of integrity or honesty on the subject of Brittney Griner and drug use.  #FreeBritney -- when it's useful.
