“Woah, that was unexpected,” the PGA Tour Live announcer said as Justin Rose nearly shanked a bunker shot through a truck’s windshield parked near the green of the par-5 12th Hole at Bay Hill where the boys are playing the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Why is a truck parked in a spot where Rose could nearly shank one through its windshield? Because the Bay Hill course superintendent isn’t expecting the No. 36 player in the world to Clay Travis a bunker shot in that direction.
JR had the white hairs, who’re all jacked up on Moderna shots & ready to see some golf, ducking for cover with this one.

That brings us to what we saw over the weekend out of OutKick’s fearless leader who had Lara recording as he attacked a beautiful par-3 on the Mayan Riviera as the married couple enjoyed some alone time — until they hooked up for dinner with Geoff Schwartz and his lovely wife.
The big difference here from Clay and Justin is that Clay was smart enough to take the greenside bunker out of play by purposely going long onto the Gulf of Mexico beach before teeing up another and another. He did admit this week to hitting three shots.
Spent the morning playing the Kamaleon course at Mayakoba down on the Mayan Riviera. Hard to have a more majestic swing than this. Pitching wedge into the ocean green. While my golf game is awful, the course is fantastic. pic.twitter.com/pfVDy5Gvcx

Rose rebounded just fine and finished his opening round with a one-under 71 while Rory McIlroy is atop the leaderboard with a six-under 66.
Meanwhile, this is the other big news at Bay Hill.

“….course superintendent isn’t expecting the No. 36 player in the world to Clay Travis a bunker shot in that direction.” I cannot stop laughing!!!!
Finally a professional shot I have in my game.
