Justin Fields Takes Brutal Hit That Knocks Helmet From Head

Chicago Bears rookie quarterback Justin Fields had his “Welcome to the NFL” moment during the preseason game against the Buffalo Bills on Saturday.

Bills linebacker Andre Smith delivered a nasty helmet-to-helmet hit on Fields, which knocked his helmet off and his mouthpiece out.

Smith, who was flagged for a roughing the passer penalty on the play, took to social media following the game to apologize to Bears fans personally for the hit on the rookie QB.

“It didn’t really hurt, to be honest with you,” Fields said after the game. “I think the one thing that hurt was my helmet coming off and hitting me in the eye. But the actual hit, it wasn’t that crazy.”

In the 41-15 preseason loss to the Bills, Fields completed 9-of-19 for 80 yards and ran for an additional 46 yards. The Bills beat the Bears 41-15.

  1. Justin Fields simply just does not have it. You should never ever ever get blown up like that on a clear and obvious Strong Side blitz that everyone in the stands and sitting at home could see coming. Also this wasn’t a roughing the passer penalty it was a clean ass hit. They are going to do everything to protect this dude now that the media made him the center of the woke clown olympics pre draft.

  2. If the OLB simply leads with his shoulder right through Field’s chest there instead of leading with his helmet up high it’s perfectly legal. There’s no excuse for that hit now, especially when he has a clean uninterrupted chance to see and hit Fields unobstructed. Obviously he wanted to knock his head off there and couldn’t resist. Apologies are pretty stupid for a pro football player playing at this level who obviously knows the rules; just don’t do it. Not sure what a the result was but According to the rules that should be a clear ejection and fine.

    • You are the kind of football fan that is ruining the sport for everyone if you think that was a “dirty hit” just go watch soccer or some shit my god. Lmfao you are also obviously either a die hard Bears fan or Justin Fields stan so idk why I would think you would be any kind of objective on this play.

    • Furthermore if they are going to call this shit as often as they do now then it needs to be reduced to a 10 or 5 yard penalty because it is completely ruining the game and creating such a disadvantage for defenses who are already hamstrung by all of these stupid hitting rules.
