Justin Fields Set To Throw At Second Pro Day, 49ers Will Attend

Justin Fields is expected to throw at a second Ohio State Pro Day held on April 14, The Athletic's Matt Barrows confirmed.

After the Ohio State Pro Day conflicted with Alabama's Pro Day on March 30, Fields welcomed a chance to work out again for anyone who couldn't make to the first outing.

This time, the 49ers staff are expected to attend the session, Barrows reports, per Fields agent.

Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch opted to watch Alabama's Mac Jones throw, while 49ers assistant GM Adam Peters observed Fields’ workout, ProFootballRumors.com reports, but Fields' agent signaled Shanahan will be there this time around.

Fields got high marks for his workout at Ohio State’s Pro Day last month. He ran the 40-yard dash in an unofficial time of 4.44 seconds, ESPN reports.

Fields passed for 5,373 yards, 63 touchdowns and nine interceptions over two seasons at Ohio State after starting his career at Georgia.

He is set to become the second Ohio State quarterback in the past three seasons to be drafted in the first round. The program had none between Art Schlichter in 1982 and Dwayne Haskins in 2019, per ESPN.
