Joe Burrow Sends Money To Buy Shots For Ohio U. Fans At Athens Bar

Joe Burrow, the legend of Athens, Ohio, reportedly sent $500 to The College Inn bar on Court Street with very specific instructions. "F--kin party," Burrow said, according to payment screenshots floating around Athens social media channels.

So that's exactly what they did. Shots were lined up on the bar of The C.I. and distributed to OU fans. All eyes now turn to Monday night's game against Creighton and what will happen if the No. 13 Bobcats win and get to the Sweet 16. If they do, Joey B has no choice but to do it again. At this point, you can't break the momentum created by the first $500 purchase.

Burrow might not have played his college ball in Athens, but his father, Jimmy Burrow, was the Ohio U. defensive coordinator from 2005 until his retirement in 2018. It's home, and Joe knows how to take care of those who've supported him. Don't forget that he remembered his roots during his Heisman Trophy acceptance speech.

"Coming from southeast Ohio, it’s a very impoverished area and the poverty rate is almost two times the national average. There’s so many people there that don’t have a lot, and I’m up here for all those kids in Athens and Athens County that go home to not a lot of food on the table, hungry after school. You guys can be up here, too," Burrow said that night in New York City.

The Bengals QB went on to take care of the Athens County food bank, and now he's taking care of the OU students who need a shot. The legend continues to grow.

I tried my best to count the shots. It looks like at least 105-115 lined up on the bar:
