Jim Harbaugh Discusses His New Blue Pants

After years of wearing khaki pants, Jim Harbaugh mixed it up Saturday night by wearing blue pants for Michigan's game at Minnesota. He says the blue pants were his way of living it up a little bit. It was his way of mixing in a little change to the same old, same old. "You don't want to become like stale bread, over-ripe fruit, or burnt meat," Harbaugh told Detroit TV sports anchor Brad Galli.

Harbaugh claims that he's "changin' it up." The 56-year-old coach turned himself into a marketer's dream with his love of wearing khakis, especially the Lululemon version that he began wearing 2017. At the time, he vowed that he'd "never wear anything else." But times have changed.

Harbaugh is said to be a fan of the ABC Pant Classic. The 'True Navy' Lululemon pants retail for $128--a far stretch from the price Harbaugh used to pay for Walmart khakis. “I’ve thrown (his pants) away many of times," Harbaugh's wife, Sarah, said in 2014. "I threw them out, and when he went to the combine, he found a Walmart. They were eight dollars. Eight dollars!”

There you have it, Harbaugh is 1-0 in blue pants. There's no going back now. It's 2020, and it's time to mix it up. No more stale bread khakis. Time for the era of True (Maize and) Blue.
