Jemele Hill Says America Is Nazi Germany

Jemele Hill, ESPN’s favorite Colin Kaepernick documentary producer, is at it again Tweeting this evening that America was nearly as bad as Nazi Germany. Interestingly, this statement, that the United States was just as bad as Nazi Germany, is the exact same thing Adolf Hitler said to try and encourage other countries not to fight the Nazis in World War II. So it’s good to see Jemele recycling Hitler’s talking points eighty years after Hitler made them himself.

Jemele’s idiotic comments came in relation to “Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents” — a new book by Isabel Wilkerson — which was first introduced to the masses as part of Oprah Winfrey’s Book Club. She called it the most important book she has ever selected for her readers.

Jemele Hill — who we now know is part of that book club — has joined the fray by commenting about the book on Twitter. Her take was more typical of…. well, Jemele Hill. The reactions to Jemele Hill were… well, what you expect of those who would follow and reply to Jemele Hill.

The short version is that she calls America worse than Nazi Germany. Which is insane. The long version is this thread:

Oh, by the way, the book is based on India’s caste system, yet Hill and the author were able to transpose those things to America and tie it to Black Lives Matter. America has never had a caste system, of course, but playing in the Victim Olympics needed a new event.

About “Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents” (Penguin Random House)

Drawing parallels between the caste systems of America, India, and Nazi Germany, Wilkerson outlines a revolutionary framework for understanding how caste plays out across civilisations, both historically and today. Backed by years of research, she identifies eight ideological pillars that underlie all caste systems. Using riveting stories from the lives of Martin Luther King Jr., baseball’s Satchel Paige, an ordinary single father and his toddler son, and many others, Wilkerson shows how the insidious undertow of caste is experienced by each of us every day. She documents how the Nazis studied the racial systems in America to plan their debasement of the Jews; she discusses why the cruel logic of caste requires that there be a bottom rung for those in the middle to measure themselves against; she writes about the surprising health costs of caste, in depression and life expectancy, and the effects of this hierarchy on our culture and politics. Finally, she points forward to ways America can move beyond the artificial and destructive separations of human divisions, toward hope in our common humanity.

  1. No one likes Jemele. Her ESPN show had horrible ratings by comparison of other shows on the network. She works in a niche market of Marxist idiots that aren’t educated or not educated properly. She must appeal to the lowest common denominator of morons to stay relevant. Her parents voted for trump this is nothing but mommy and daddy issues expressed to the world as opposed to seeking actual therapy for her delusions of our great country.

  2. I would think Ms. Hill, with both the resources and freedom, would leave a country that is as bad a Nazi Germany. There’s a whole big world out there almost all of which, according to Ms. Hill, is better than America.

  3. I just went back and read Whitlock’s “Gold Digger” column from a few weeks ago. Whitlock had it exactly right. Jemele is an “addict” for attention. She is pathetic. And so is the America hating NBA (who made her the “voice” of their ridiculous And1 China tour when bubble games started)……..She is a completely mediocre mind. Her writing contains neither insight nor creativity. She is a product of Jack Dorsey’s twitter algorithm. Dorsey really knows how to pick the “useful idiots” .

  4. Yeah, Jemele’s arguments are swiss cheese. Even before the Holocaust began, hoardes of people, including Academia, were fleeing Germany like lemmings off a sinking ship. I haven’t heard of anything like this happening (although some Hollywood goofballs threatened to leave if Trump got elected- still waiting). In fact, wasn’t there a migrant caravan walked 2500 miles at the chance to get into America in 2018? To quite Joe Biden and Cris Carter, C’mon Man!

    • I think she is an opportunist and knows exactly what she’s doing. Prior to being Miss SJW she was just a sideline reporter and occasional talk show fill in at ESPN. Her income and celebrity has increased exponentially because of her political hot takes.

  5. Jemele Hill and anyone else who has the audacity to compare America to Nazi Germany is insulting the millions of people that were systematically killed by the Nazi’s. She should go visit one of the concentration camps and learn about how people were rounded up, tortured, starved, had medical experiments performed on them, worked to death, and if that didn’t kill them straight up gassed or firing squad. The sad part is I am sure Hill received some likes, retweets and positive comments for her garbage post.

    • Amen, as a lover of WW2 history, the comparison of our country to Nazi Germany is especially aggravating to me. For starters, what countries has Donald Trump invaded? Prior to invading Austria most of the world appreciated the Nazis as “firm but fair”, they fixed a country and economy that were in disaster, put people to work, and did not tolerate a lot of foolishness from their citizens. Had that been Hitler’s true mission, things would have turned out quite differently. But instead Hitler had designs on conquering all of Europe, and huge swaths of other continents. He also viewed any non Aryan’s as inferior and not worth keeping alive.

Only a person with no understanding of the Nazi movement and the atrocities they caused would attempt to make a comparison.

  6. If she really believed that she would be doing her utmost to leave this country she also loses all credibility with statements like that. The Third Reich was a vicious one party rule govt where people had zero rights and if you spoke like she is speaking you would never be heard from again. She sounds like another race hustler bent on sowing hate and division not about bringing people together really sad and pathetic.

  7. I think we have passed the point of giving this person any more attention for any opinion she has about anything. I find her boring. I love reading Outkick but if I just see is her name attached to any article, I already know the trajectory of her thoughts and it requires no further reading. She is not interesting at all to read or talk about. Although it is fascinating that people like her regularly spew the bigotry of low expectations for blacks and it is not called out by even a few folks other than Outkick. Anything she says is going to create more strife and chaos for anyone involved, that is a lock.

  8. I remember another silly Hill tweet from 3-4 years ago where she demonized the white-male dominated sports media outlets that she worked her way up from. Instead of being grateful…instead of promoting other black women to get into sports media…she spewed her predictable systemic racism garbage.

Out of college I worked at newspaper. No, there were not many black females, or blacks for that matter, working the sports desk. The reason wasn’t “racism”, the reason is that there was little interest from black females to get into sports media. It was hard to hire from a group from which there were no applicants. Yet this woman, despite her vitriol and obvious lack of talent (on display daily on TV and on Twitter), was able to rise to the top of her field. Rather than encourage black women to get into sports media, she urges them to hate the USA and to spit on law enforcement officers tasked with policing gang-ridden inner cities.

  9. Jemele Hill is so stupid, she sometimes forgets to breathe. Actually If Jemele had two brain cells to rub together she would understand that China is likely the closest thing to Nazi Germany on the planet right now.
