Jeff Goodman and Rob Dauster Launching College Hoops Podcast Network

College basketball scribes Jeff Goodman of Stadium and Rob Dauster, formerly of NBC Sports, are launching the Field of 68 Media Network, Goodman confirmed to OutKick. The new program will feature three national college hoops podcasts and a dozen more pegged for individual teams.

The three national college basketball pods will be one hosted by Goodman and former Purdue standout Robbie Hummel, one hosted by former Nebraska head coach Tim Miles, and one by Dauster.

The following former players will host team-specific podcasts:

• Shammond Williams on North Carolina
• Dan Dickau on Gonzaga
• Antonio Anderson on Memphis
• Eric Devendorf on Syracuse
• Jason Fraser on Villanova
• Jeff Hawkins on Kansas
• Wayne Turner on Kentucky
• A.J. Guyton on Indiana
• Kenny Goins on Michigan State
• Scott Wood on NC State
• Patric Young on Florida

These three will be hosted by writers familiar with the programs:

• Jeff Greer on Louisville
• Ashley Hodge and Jason King on Baylor
• Dan Sullivan on Dayton

You can find details about the podcasts here.

My prediction is that we are going to see more regionalized sports podcasts. The sports talk landscape is still dominated by local radio, which will be ripe for disruption by podcasts in the coming years. National broadcasts, while interesting, are not as appealing to fans who prefer to focus on their favorite team.
