Jay Glazer: Drew Brees Will Retire After this Season

It has been widely assumed that Drew Brees would retire after this season and head to the NBC Notre Dame broadcast booth. Now, on FOX’s pregame show for Bucs-Saints, Jay Glazer reports in no uncertain terms that this will be Brees’ final game at the Superdome:

If this is the final game of Drew Brees’ career, it’s been a heck of a ride. And, if it’s not, he will have two more games to win to go out as a Super Bowl champion a la Peyton Manning and John Elway.

  1. First, I have nothing against Drew Brees. He has overcome a horrendous injury and a demure physical stature to accumulate tremendous statistics in the NFL. But like his coach, his Super Bowl win will always be tainted by “Bounty Gate”.
