Kentavius Street of the Niners was called for roughing the passer on this play. It was a hard hit, but there’s little that Street could’ve done differently there.
Adam Schefter notes that Brees is still in uniform on the sidelines, so it’s unclear if he is out for the rest of the game at this juncture.
The Saints lead the Niners 17-10 in the third quarter.
We will update this post if there is new information on Brees’ status.
Update: The Saints have listed Brees as questionable to return with injured ribs.

Soft physically? After 20 years in the NFL and setting all types of records at sub 6 feet, I would hardly call him soft. Karma for what?
He’s talking about Brees being pigeon-holed as a racist because he originally stated he believes in standing for the national anthem, and then Brees changing his tune after the players turned their backs on him.
