Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins is undergoing an MRI for a left knee injury sustained Saturday that is likely to end his season, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.

Dobbins was ruled out for the rest of the Ravens’ 37-3 rout of the Washington Football Team after suffering the injury on the opening drive.

Dobbins was entering his first season as Baltimore’s featured back after being picked in the second round of the 2020 draft. The running back was pivotal in the Ravens’ late-season push to reach the playoffs last year, gaining 425 yards and scoring six touchdowns in the final five regular-season games.

Dobbins averaged 6.0 yards per carry last year, the second-highest average by a rookie running back over the past 20 seasons, according to ESPN Stats & Information research. With only Saints’ Alvin Kamara having a higher average as a rookie with 6.1 yards per carry.

Head coach John Harbaugh mentioned after the Ravens’ win that Dobbins would get tested Saturday and “we’ll see where we’re at, at that point in time.”

After a 20-3 victory over the Carolina Panthers last week, the Ravens won their 19th straight preseason game.

The victory Saturday marked the team’s 20th straight preseason win, and no one is going to convince Harbaugh that the streak lacks meaning.

  1. Meh. Hey the Ravens won 20 pre-season games in a row. That is something. I was honestly hoping one person would tear an ACL. The Skins started their 3/4th string guys and they played the whole game. Ravens played first and second string through the 3rd quarter. Glad the Ravens won though. Maybe have the same cockiness and energy in January.
