It's Inspiring to See Josh Hawley Working With Bernie Sanders and AOC

You have no doubt noticed that we live in an increasingly polarized society, online and off, where negative stories spread much faster and wider than positive ones. Granted, this article originates from a situation that is supremely negative, but I use it to shine a light on one positive result from it. It is inspiring to see Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) collaborate with Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) in solidarity with the American worker.

As Congress continues to endlessly deliberate a stimulus package, small businesses and the rank-and-file American worker -- anyone who owns or works at a bar, restaurant, gym, hotel, etc. that has been subject to shutdowns from local government -- are hanging by a string. It's a powder keg, and it requires cooperation across the aisle that the leaders in Congress have not demonstrated.

Yes, there has been turbulence for big businesses and high net worth individuals, but as evidenced by the stock market, they are largely more than fine.

The collaboration began last Friday, when Senator Hawley tweeted that he would gladly work with the New York representative on a bi-partisan bill that includes direct payments to families and workers:

On Thursday, Senator Hawley and Senator Sanders worked together in the Senate to introduce a bill that would would provide $1,200 to Americans making $75,000 or less.

There are, of course, many issues on which Senators Hawley and Sanders disagree a great deal, and it is thus inspiring to see them fighting for the class of Americans that frankly has not been fought for enough this year.
