Isaiah Wilson Had Been Arrested For High-Speed Chase While With Titans

Former Tennessee Titans offensive tackle Isaiah Wilson had been arrested at gunpoint following a high speed chase prior to being traded to the Miami Dolphins, as first reported by BroadwaySportsMedia.com.

"In the early hours of Jan. 7, just a few days before his teammates were scheduled to play Baltimore in a first-round playoff game, Wilson was arrested in Barrow County, which is about 25 miles northwest of Athens, Ga., where Wilson played at the University of Georgia," the website relayed.

Per the Barrow County Sheriff's Office, Wilson was booked and charged with fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, speeding in a construction zone, reckless driving, marijuana possession of less than an ounce, possession and use of drug-related objects and reckless conduct. The fleeing charge is a federal offense.

Wilson was released a day later after posting a $7,000 bond.

"It was not immediately clear whether the incident had processed through the court system yet, as a representative for the Barrow County District Attorney’s office said the court’s scheduling details are not shared with outside parties," BroadwaySportsMedia reported.

The Titans have not yet commented.

Wilson has since been released by the Dolphins after showing up late to meetings and skipping optional workouts that he agreed to attend.

Per the Miami Herald, Wilson rejected the Dolphins’ attempts to help him “get his life on track” and instead continued “behavior that caused the Tennessee Titans to give up on him less than a year after drafting him in the first round.”

The Herald added that Wilson showed up late for his first physical with the Dolphins, as well as his first orientation. He then “skipped two optional workouts that he had committed to attend,” the Herald reported, citing a source.

The Titans drafted Wilson with the No. 29 overall pick in 2020. He made his way onto the field for a measly three snaps.

“On Friday, a series of videos were posted on Wilson’s Instagram account of what appeared to be Wilson inhaling a vape and dancing shirtless on a car,” the Herald reported, “but the Dolphins would have cut him even if those had not appeared, the source added.”

While with the Titans, Wilson was arrested on DUI charges and, in a separate incident, attempted to jump off a second-story balcony to evade arrest. He instead received a trespassing warning.

Following the trade, the Dolphins will continue to own the Titans' seventh-round pick in 2022. The Titans received the Dolphins seventh-rounder this year as part of the Wilson deal.
