Iowa Basketball Player Gets Absolutely Rocked By Sucker Punch At Bar

Jordan Bohannon, who holds the Iowa Hawkeyes record for 3-pointers made, most games played, assists and free throw percentage, is recovering from a brutal knockout punch early Sunday morning at DC's Sports Bar in Iowa City. Video from the incident shows Bohannon and a group of guys having a typical late-night bar conversation when someone comes up and unloads on Bohannon.

Iowa is saying, according to TMZ, that the guard has a "serious head injury" and that police are looking for the attacker.

"Thankfully, Jordan is recovering well after being attacked by an individual he did not see coming at him," Hawkeyes head coach Fran McCaffery said in a statement. "We were made aware of the incident immediately. We are grateful that friends who were with Jordan at the time kept the incident from escalating. His health is our number one concern."

Bohannon announced earlier this spring that he would take advantage of a 6th season offered up due to the COVID situation across the NCAA. Those plans are now the least of the concerns for Iowa as they try to get Bohannon healthy after this brutal incident.
