Three House Democrats that caught a flight out of Texas reportedly also caught COVID-19, announced on Saturday. The identities of the three Democrats have been kept anonymous, but the members were confirmed fully vaccinated.
In the midst of ongoing political theater intended to stop SB 1 — a GOP-backed voting bill — from being passed, 60 House Democrats broke quorum on Monday to oppose legislation that will tackle drive-thru voting and 24-hour voting sessions.
Late Friday evening, the first member received a positive COVID result and reported no symptoms prior to confirmation. The following two members were confirmed positive on Saturday, with only one of the House Democrats displaying symptoms.
According to the Fox News report, the three lawmakers are required to remain quarantined for 10 days.
Several photos of the journey were posted by House Democrats, boasting Braveheart-like courage as they fled Texas. The self-aggrandizing bunch sipped on beer aboard private transportation to retreat to Washington, D.C., without a mask in sight.
Upon release of the photos, critics lambasted the lawmakers for their lack of face coverings. Texas Democrats have been critics of Greg Abbott‘s lifting of the statewide mask mandate, leaving less to the imagination as to whether all of the political cheap tricks are a play for media coverage.
Vice President Kamala Harris provided high praise of the group by equating them to American abolitionist Frederick Douglass. Harris said the following:
“They took bold, courageous action in line with the legacy of everyone from Frederick Douglass, who is over my right shoulder, when he fought for the right of black men to vote in America, to the legacy that includes all those women who marched down Pennsylvania Avenue for women’s right to vote to all of those folks who shed their blood on the Edmund Pettus Bridge to make sure that we would in 1965 pass the Voting Rights Act.”
I am in Texas and I have conservative, family values. But I do not want a one-party state (competition is good), I like the concept of an opposition party. Unfortunately these demotard woke clowns are losing all credibility dying on this Hill – 80% of Americans want voter ID. Well I guess we are going to be a 1-party state for awhile but on the other hand, fortunately? (not really) we have the Kalifornia Klowns moving in droves to Texas and promptly trying to turn Texas into Kalifornia the failed state they left so we will see how it shakes out (sigh). Until then God Bless America.
All these democrats that fled Texas should be jobless. There elected officials. They are supposed to be representing the people of texas. Hard to do that when you literally run away from your job. Stop throwing a hissy fit because your not getting your way.

Agreed 100%. I hope Gov Abbot and the remaining congress people of Texas arrest these folks when they come back home. This is not why these folks were elected. BTW, who paid for the flights, food, etc, surely the pols aren’t paying for this themselves. Same on the vaccine.

Fight for “voting rights”… in the era where it’s never been easier to vote. Somehow there was never better black voter turn out in ’08 & ’12 than ever before in the “old system” of voting. But these much more lenient guidelines are Jim Eagle.

It’s all about being able to more easily cheat and manipulate elections. This has nothing to do with actual voter suppression. People need ID’s to everything legal under the sun but to vote its a problem?

I wonder who paid for that private jet and 50 representatives’ travel expenses, room and board, and security? I bet that wasn’t cheap, and I bet those people didn’t pay for it out of their own pockets. I’m sure taxpayers are glad to know they are funding waste full political stunts like that. They should be required to pay for such optional, out of state activities out of their own pockets, not with donor funds. I bet you those flights would be far less populated if those geniuses had to write the check. Typical sleazeball politicians living like kings on everyone else’s dime. Democrats and Republicans should both be angry about such waste and abuse of office. That picture of a bunch of politicians mocking our system while relaxing in luxury on a private jet says it all. The Democrats have become the party of the “lords” and we’re all their serfs.
