Holyfield Stepping In For De La Hoya Due To Covid

According to TMZ’s report, Oscar De La Hoya has been ruled out of his comeback and Evander Holyfield will fill in for a bout with Vitor Belfort. And yes, De La Hoya was vaccinated, if anyone cares.

De La Hoya posted a video from his hospital bedside.

“Wanted you to hear directly from me that despite being fully vaccinated, I have contracted Covid and am not going to be able to fight next weekend.”

“Preparing for this comeback has been everything to me over the last months, and I want ti thank everyone for their tremendous support. I am currently in the hospital getting treatment and am confident I will be back in the ring before the year is up. God bless everyone and be safe.”

Strange how an almost 50-year-old Oscar De La Hoya feels confident he’ll not only survive covid, but he’ll be back in the ring better than ever. Really makes you wonder why half the country, despite being fully healthy young adults, shakes in their boots like Ebola is upon us.

Regardless, we wish the 11-time World Champion a speedy recovery and suddenly have to shift our focus to a matchup between 58-year-old Evander Holyfield and MMA legend Vitor Belfort. Reports say that if Holyfield can’t get approved for the fight by the weekend — they’ll move the fight to Florida.

Florida never lets us down.

  1. Just came out that 50 more people have had COVID and recovered than they thought. That would mean it’s half as lethal as they thought. Meaning it’s right on track with the flu in terms of death rate. So what has this all been for? Control!
